Commencement… and other things

So I went back to Toronto (yet again!!) last weekend for commencement. And I must say, it felt weird being back there, but in a good way. My highschool friends haven’t been all together for a while now, and even though some people couldn’t make it, it felt pretty good seeing everyone again. The ceremony itself was alright… it felt shorter than it actually was, I guess ‘cause we spent a good part of it in line. Not too many highlights to speak of, but Fa Zu (I think that’s how you spell his name…) was hilarious as usual. I wasn’t aware that Dave Rodrigues was elected as valedictorian, but his speech was pretty good anyway. His jab at Mr. Heritage was excellent… you had to be there to understand though. Spent Saturday studying… but I ended up going stereo shopping in the late afternoon. Got the a new jvc system for $250 (reg. $300, so not bad…), and I’m pretty happy with it. Strong low end sound with very clear high end too. Haven’t tried really blasting it yet, but it’s sufficient to say that I’d probably get in a wee bit of trouble if I did. Went over to my buddy’s place at night for dinner, ended up playing Super Mario World for SNES. Man, that game is WICKED. Particularly, Yoshi, and more importantly, the way he makes the music have jungle beats when you get him. If you’ve played the game, you know what I’m talking about. The ending music is wicked too. Actually, the entire soundtrack is amazing. The guy who composed it all is a genius. Yeah, I think I’ve been studying too much…
