6 weeks already??

I seriously can’t believe how quickly the year is going by. With thanksgiving coming up this weekend, it’s about 6 weeks already. But I guess it seemed shorter for me ‘cause I didn’t have as many classes as I would’ve. The strike’s still going on, so that means my labs and tutorials are cancelled. Also means less work. I just hope I don’t pay the price when midterms roll around a couple weeks from now =T. No news yet from the economics midterm yet, but the marks should be posted soon. Actually thinking about skipping the class tomorrow (my only eco lecture of the week, 3 hours long…) just ‘cause I have that algebra midterm on Thursday. Not too worried about missing eco class, ‘cause they literally teach right out of the text anyway. We’ll see what happens… also gives me a change to go to LCCF for the first time. Ah yes… skipping school to go to fellowship. Do the ends justify the means? Heh…

Also getting to know the people on my floor a lot better. Interestingly enough, there's this one jackass (sorry, but there’s no other term to describe this guy) went to Cresent. We were playing pool in the lounge when he notices my robotics shirt. “Yeah f*cking right, you went to Woburn? We killed you guys!!”. I was a bit dumbfounded to say the least. Simply because although they won the Canadian Regional, our robot was clearly better, as demonstrated in all of the one-on-one matches we had. (Basically we dragged them around wherever we wanted) Being the jackass that he is, I really didn’t care what he had to think. I’ve found that arguing with idiots doesn’t help anything. So then he goes on to ask me what my role was. I answered, “I was the driver.” (I really should’ve said, I was the one who broke your robot… funny how you always come up with the right thing to say after it’s done with). And he says, “so you didn’t really do any work on the robot then?”. And seriously, I was about to go AWOL on him. But just replied, “no, I basically did the better part of the work, that’s why I was chosen as the driver.” Totally ignoring what I had just said, he replies, “oh yeah, I didn’t work on the robot either. I just did fundraising.” Lost any shred of respect I had left for him. Not that fundraising isn’t important, but come on, he’s bragging about his team and its functional merit without actually having anything to do with it. Then he says that, “you guys are just lucky we brought the Canadian Regional here.” (If you don’t understand the implications of saying that, nm… take to long to explain. But trust me, he’s even more of a jackass for saying that.) Whatever, I usually don't let people like him get on my nerves anymore. It’s just funny how most of the other people on our floor think he’s an asshole too.
