Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. It was a bit wet and cold, but still, no complaints. Went to fellowship on Friday night for Gospelfest. We had an amazing speaker, Tony Costa. I had heard him speak before, so I knew what to expect. The amount of knowledge he has on Christianity and other religions is truly impressive. He was a bit forward in his ‘disproofs’ of other religions, but I think it was very effective. Went out for the usual Friday night siew yeah at congee wong. We’ve got a pretty good rapport with the management there now. They recognize us everytime and we sorta get preferential seating. The head waitress (boss? owner?) is pretty nice and has been asking about church. It’d be kinda cool to invite her sometime. We wanted to invite her to Gospelfest, but we kept forgetting the invitations.

Saturday was spent watching The Transporter and over to Mike’s. The movie was… well, it was pretty much a typical action movie, ‘cept with some good style, and some very acting by Shu Qi. The opening chase scene is excellent, with not too much technical mumbo jumbo and not too much unbelievable stuff. It featured a souped BMW 735i, and some Peugeots. Of course, it was nothing compared to the chase in Ronin. The rest of the movie was just OK. It would’ve been much better, despite the plot holes, if only Shu Qi was such a terrible actor. All she does is scream, whine and b*tch the whole movie, while being a skank at the same time. Her porn star background definitely shows through, no pun intended.

Had a really good time at Mike’s though. Lots of people, and an awesome time of fellowship. Lots of food, including a winged-effort turkey that turned out to be really good, even though it had to be cooked twice due to rawness. Mike’s place is just sick though. His place (a penthouse suite) overlooks the eastern part of North York. The view is magnificent and unobstructed. I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if I could see my place in scarborough with binoculars. Quite the bachelor pad.

Sunday was spend at church, then basically back home for a nice family dinner, minus Jensen (on call). More good food with even more turkey. That tryptophan really kicks in, I tell you. I passed out at 10, and didn’t get up till this morning at 8 (would’ve been much later, hadn’t my dad woken me up to tell me my ride was leaving at 10). Since then I’ve just been studying and stuff. Good thing my mom packed me even more turkey for dinner tonight. Looks like I’m going to get some good rest.
