Long Weekend

Man I can’t wait. It’ll be nice to have a little vacation away from work. It’ll be a pretty busy one though. I’ll be leading worship on Friday and Sunday, so evenings this week are pretty much filled with practices. Not that I’m complaining. I think this is where my new passion is really developing. After I started listening to DMB (ironically enough, since they’re a secular band), I’ve really started listening hard to music and trying to appreciate the different aspects that each artist has in their music. Anyway, I’m consciously trying to improve how I lead worship and what I can add to my playing style. I’m still very very far from being any good, but I gotta start somewhere. I guess it also helps a lot that our church is lucky enough to have some truly gifted musicians.

On the topic of improvements, I think I really need to learn to shut my big mouth. Really. I’m probably far too opinionated for my own good, and to make things worse, I often feel the need to tell people. Not that being opinionated is bad, but I think I’ve become far too insensitive. Those highschool years of constant insults to each other (in love, of course) has probably messed me up real nice. And it doesn’t help that we still insult each other all the time now, and I also do it with university friends. So dysfunctional. So good. But yeah, next time I open my mouth and sass comes out, tell me to shut up.

Anyway, other stuff…. Managed to get U2 tickets for the Wednesday show, but they’re behind the stage. Better than nothing I guess. It’s also 5 months away, so although I’m pretty hyped up about it, the real anticipation isn’t here yet. Still waiting for DMB to release some Canadian dates too, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I emailed the warehouse and they said that they currently don’t have information about adding new dates. Which basically means absolutely nothing. So, I’m keeping my fingers crossed. PSP is out tomorrow… but no, there’s next to no desire for me to get one. I mean, it’s toy, so there’s a little desire, but not much besides that………….. really.
