An Interesting Email

I received a pretty interesting email today. It was titled “I had the same surgery as you”, from a person whose identity I won’t reveal, just in case he doesn’t want me to. Anyway, it was from someone who I did not know. And in the email, he shared with me his experience with a very similar surgery that he had recently gone through. He had stumbled upon my blog after searching for my oral surgeon’s name, Dr. Tocchio. Just by coincidence, he came across my story of pain and hardship that was so similar to his own. He was kind enough to share his experiences and difficulties with me when he had his surgery done about a month before my own. I was amazed to see how many similarities we had. He wrote of many small trials that he had to go through that were identical to my own. Anyway, I was just glad to know that there are other people out there that know exactly what I went/am going through. It’s such a blessing as well that he was so willing to reveal his own surgery with me. And since it seems his recovery was more difficult than mine was/is, it also showed me how lucky and blessed I was to have felt as little pain and discomfort as I did. To the person of subject, if you’re reading this, thank you.

On another note, I’m leaving for our annual year-end Malachi retreat tomorrow. It’s being held at Shalom by the Lake, about a 3 hour drive from Toronto. I’m pretty excited about, as it’s going to be my last as a Malachite. It’ll be bittersweet I know, but (almost) all good things must come to an end.
