HL2...!!!

My hands are shaking with anticipation. It's out today. It's already being hailed as the best game of all time. I waaaaannnnntttt iittttt... but alas, there's this thing called school to worry about. If I get this game now, I'll fail. *Sigh* I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait it out. I'll probably pick it up at around Christmas time... if there're any copies left in stores. Hopefully there'll be some boxing day specials or something. Speaking of Christmas, the two other things I've been desparately waiting for for the last year drop on December 14th. LOTR:ROTK:SXDE and GT4. You may have noticed that the 14th is the day of my first exam. So it looks like either more waiting, or once again, failure. I've waited this long though, I guess a couple more weeks can't really hurt... but oh how it hurts...

ANYWAY, about 2.5 weeks of school left.... Yes, I really am that excited about finishing up. Not that school's particularly bad, but Christmas is just particularly great. Here's the wish list...

...

On second thought, maybe not. I'm sure you all know what my interests are by now.

Okay, so some movie reviews. (Yes, I realize how fragmented this post is, but HL2 has gotten me all frazzled.)

Garden State
I heard about this movie even before it came out in theatres, and I was dieing to see it. All the reviews for it were great, and of course, Natalie's in it. Not that I would see a movie just because of a certain actress, but it's a definite plus. Anyway, for some odd reason, I didn't get a chance to go see it in theatres. Ultimately it doesn't make a huge difference since it's not exactly a movie that requires the big screen and big sound. Did it live up to expectations? Abso-freakin'-lutely. A truely unique plot with a great variety of characters. It was refreshingly honest and simple... and the bits of humour were hilarious. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. 8.5/10.

King Arthur
Ehhh... yeah... it had gotten bad reviews, but the whole epic-ness of it made me want to (download and) watch it. Plus, Keira Knightly is in it, which doesn't hurt anything at all, except of course for the choice of bizarre makeup that they put on her near the end. Anyway... the plot was fairly predictable and wasn't exactly original. The characters didn't have much depth and the acting was average at best. The fight scenes were kinda cool in the sense that you know, there was a lot of killing, but therein lies the problem. Most of the killing was pointless. The battle scenes were drawn out too long, and the graphic dismemberments, runnings-through, eye-jammies (there were more than one....(?!?)), etc. were just too much. But, it kept me fairly interested, which is more than I can say for some of the crappier movies I've seen. Worth watching only if you want to see an average action flick with a pretty face. 5/10.
