From the worst to the best...
What a day I had yesterday. It was honestly one of the worst days I've had all school year. First of all, I slept in a bit and was in a rush to get to class. Then I was actually falling asleep in class. Hey, I honestly almost never fall asleep in class. Goofing off, daydreaming and doing crosswords and jumbles, yes, but sleeping, no. I generally at least like to get the notes down. Ugh. So I'm heading home after class, and of course, I slip an fall on some ice. And really, I NEVER slip and fall. Seriously. But this time, I land right on my hip and elbow, bruising both, and doing something really funny to my hip-flexor (or that's what I'd assume it to be). So, I had to walk the rest of the way in some moderate pain and soaked pants. GREAT! The icing on the cake was when I got home and started to work on my computer, I had a cup of tea. Ok, you guys know how I always have food with me while I'm on the computer. Again, I have NEVER spilt anything before while at the computer, but this time, almost the ENTIRE glass (and this is one of those big thermal glasses) all over the keyboard. Wow. So that inspired me to skip my afternoon class and mope around (and cleaning out this stupid keyboard... that's STILL STICKY!!!!!)
Oh, but how things always turn out so so well. Hannah (thanks again!) was good enough to inform me that I got an interview with Sun Life Financial. WOOHOO!!! Of course, the stupid people at the Co-op office neglected to tell me, even through the stupid system (which was down, AGAIN). So now onto today. I went there this morning to check out, and there it was, my name on the list. There's a total of 8 people listed for that interview, which is actually for two jobs. My chances looked pretty good, but I didn't really know if this job would be posted elsewhere, so I tried not to get my hopes too high up. But just like how things got worse yesterday, thing got so much better today. First of all, I find out that one of my assignments due this Friday has been postponed till Monday, giving me time to study for my midterm tomorrow, my other assignment on Friday, and prepping for this interview. Sweetness.... Oh but wait, there's more. I headed to the job fair at RIM Park after class today to check things out. Headed over to the Sun Life booth to chat it up, and maybe get my foot in the door. I just so happen to meet one of the people that will be interviewing me tomorrow. Sweetness... Oh but wait, there's more. I introduce myself with just my first name... she says, "Oh Nevin! Nevin Tan? Yeah I know you! I screened the résumés! You're in the double degree program right?...". She knew me already??? Damn... oh but wait, there's still more. She goes on to tell me that this job was only posted at WLU AND they're particularly interested in the double degree students. Wow indeed. Certainly more than I had hoped for. God is truly amazing.
