Snow Day!

Aight, so with the storm came the closing of both WLU and UW. So what to do with the time? Sleep in - check. Laze around - check. Go extreme toboganning with G and K-gow - check. Oh man. It was good. We initially had this hill scoped out that we thought had major potential. It looked quite high with a resonable slope. It's across from KWCAC, so we headed over to check it out. Utter disappointment. It looked so good from afar, but upon closer inspection, it wasn't worth it. Although it was as high as it looked, the distance was just too much. you'd eventually get good speed, but the trek back up the hill would take too long. Anyway, we headed over to the other hill we had scoped out, the Michael's parking lot. This hill was rather short, but oh so steep. Something like 60 degrees at least. It was quite the struggle to get our way to the top, but man, what a ride. It didn't even require any ramp building since the big pieces of ice (and the fact that it led into a parking lot) made it extreme enough. Trust, this hill is good. We'll be making another trip there sometime soon.

On another note, LOTR: ROTK did really well at the Golden Globes, winning Best Drama, Best Director and Best Original Song. Hopefully this is an indication of how the Oscars are going to turn out. They've already gotten 11 nominations (including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay). My fingers are crossed....
