I got this chasiu recipe from Connie (Fan) a while back. It took me a while to get off my lazy butt to collect (and solicit my brother's help) to scrounge up the ingredients, but I decided to make it, not really know how it'd taste or how it'd compare to the store-bought stuff. Gerrome and Connie both told me how good it was, so who am I to say no to chasiu? The result? See for yourself.
Hour 0:

That's a pork butt (the shoulder... I don't know why they call it the butt). Love the fat.
Hour 49.5:


Yup. You read correctly. I marinated this thing for more than two full days. Look at that fat. Look at the colour. Oh my.
Anyway, into the oven, basting along the way and flipping it once. The end results:



Seriously... omgwtfBBQ. This was THE best chasiu I've EVER tasted. Look at that glistening chunk of fatty goodness...*drool*. Yeah, I gotta make more.

yes i must agree - some of the best chasiu i've ever tasted. Although Spammie's was pretty good today too - i can get used to this taste testing business.
